I need to be able to enter an instructor's name that isn't in PPS. I have an instructor who actually is a UC Santa Cruz employee. To hire them we do a multi-location agreement. This also means he won't be put into PPS. Payroll folks, behind the scene, work with UCSC to get him paid for the work he does at UCD. I can't add them to the People workgroup since he's not in PPS, which means I can't add him anywhere else, including the activities view.

SS1, ECS20: Why is the lecture section on the calendar side showing the section as 00X when on the course list side it does have 'Section 001' there? The same for ECS30.

In SSI, ECS20 has two discussion sections showing. One that I created (M 12:10-1:50) and shows in the left side course listing, but a second one shows on the calendar side that I did not create (M 2:10-4:50). Also, on the one I created, it's not listing Gysel, R. as the instructor, even though the instructor is there and it shows on the lecture activity. Same thing is happening on ECS30.

When I choose Lecture (A) and also a Discussion (D) activity, it only allows me to tie the enrollment to the Lecture, not the discussion. I'm updating our SSI activities view screen (then I'll work on FQ16).

It would be nice if you can type in a number for the time, instead of having to use the up or down tabs to choose a time for an activity. Also, once you enter the start time, then move to the end time, the start time changes and even the hour portion of the end time changes, once you start changing the the other pieces of the time.

I'd like to see a text box in each course section, underneath the list of instructors, and one for each quarter. Also, having a similar text box on the instructor view, under each quarter, after their list of courses. These text boxes would allow me to keep track of teaching load, how much the course counts as far as their teaching load, etc. The only place I can see these notes being captured elsewhere is when we run a report by Faculty to see what classes they are teaching. If would be great to have a check box where we can choose to show the notes or not. Also having a general text box under the instructors name and under the course number would be great too. People can choose to use the text boxes or not. And they have the flexibility to use it how ever they choose to.

We haven't talked much about what reports we'd like to be able to pull once we are done. However, there are actually a couple of reports I'd like to see now or maybe we just need 'printer-friendly' views. At this point we see a list of instructors and all the courses they are willing to teach. I'd like to be able to print (or pull a report) that will show me a list of faculty and the courses that have been 'approved' for them. The same for the 'course' view. I'd like to see a list of the courses and the instructors that have actually been assigned.

I like the ability to open multiple windows of IPA so I can see a side by side view of the Teaching Preferences by both "Instructor' and 'Course'.

Can we get a longer time before we time out or maybe get rid of this all together? I envision having IPA open all day where I'm waiting for an email response and then go in and record the change, or I'm working on various projects at once and I'm going back and forth between them. I'd like to have at least a 4 hr window if we have to have it timed out at all.

I assume 'sabbatical' was an option when the instructors did their teaching preferences. But I'd like to see it added to the Teaching Preferences page that we are working on, so that when an instructor responds to me in-person or in an email I can add this or when they decide later on they want to do a sabbatical, I can add this.
